The application CheMIST is designed asanintegral part of my book: Equilibria in Analytical Chemistry-workbook' (in Serbian: 'Ravnoteze u analitickoj hemiji -zbirkazadataka').CheMIST consists of four tools:1.) Equation solver is a tool designed for calculating rootsofthree common types of polynomials. While it uses standardformulasfor calculating square roots and cube roots, it usesLaguerre’sinterpolation for calculating roots of quartic function(fourthdegree polynomial function).2.) Ideal gas calculator uses ideal gas equation forcalculations.You need to input three parameters of state (out offour- pressure,volume, temperature, and the amount of substance)and it willcalculate the fourth parameter.3.) pH calculator is designed for pH calculations of strong andweakacids (bases) and buffers. It takes into account hydroniumions fromwater autodissociation. The buffer pH is calculatedusingHenderson–Hasselbalch equation.4.)
